About Me
I’m a Registered Social Worker (RSW) in Ontario and a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in New York and New Jersey.
I completed my Master’s in Social Work in 2013, and for over a decade I’ve been supporting people in making sense of their experiences and finding new ways forward.
While I currently live in Toronto, I spent ten years living and working in New York City, which continues to shape how I think about identity, culture, and the many contexts people move through in their lives.
Over the years, I’ve worked in a range of settings - private practice, community health centres, homeless shelters, and a transgender health clinic. Each of these spaces has shaped how I show up as a therapist: grounded, flexible, and attentive to the realities of people’s lives.
I work with young adults and adults, including LGBTQ+ folks, women, and nonbinary people, as well as anyone looking for a space that feels thoughtful, steady, and non-judgmental.
My work is rooted in trauma therapy. I’m an EMDRIA Certified Therapist and EMDRIA Approved Consultant, and I specialize in helping folks with early life trauma move toward lives that feel more connected and their own.
I tend to work in an integrative way, drawing from EMDR, CBT, DBT, narrative therapy, and parts work. In practice, that means I’m less focused on following one model, and more focused on finding what actually fits for you - at your pace, and in a way that feels manageable and meaningful.
I bring my full self to this work. I am a partner, parent, sister, daughter, and friend, and these roles inspire the way I hold space for others. My hope is to create a place where you feel truly seen, supported, and empowered to move forward in your own journey.
Hi, I'm Alison
I look forward to meeting you!
