Trauma Healing with
EMDR Therapy and Intensives
Heal from the past and reclaim your life.
Past trauma may shape how you feel today - but it doesn’t have to shape your future.
I understand how overwhelming it can be to carry the weight of past trauma. As an EMDR certified therapist, I have extensive experience helping clients integrate and find peace after difficult life events and circumstances.
Together we will work to calm your nervous system, redefine your narrative, and ultimately come to a place of internal peace and empowerment. It’s possible to experience relief and to live fully in the present.

What is EMDR?
EMDR stands for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. It is an evidence-based treatment for trauma and other mental health concerns that changes the way a past experience is held in our mind/body by allowing us to become less reactive to our triggers and more open to new adaptive ways of thinking; basically, we are “rewiring” the way that a trauma is stored inside us.
EMDR addresses the physical and emotional experiences of a trauma as opposed to other forms of therapy which focus solely on talking about the events. While past life experiences cannot be erased per se, EMDR helps us “put it in the past” and move forward with our lives.
EMDR is effective both for single event traumas like car accidents or assaults, and for long-term traumas like intimate partner violence, childhood abuse or neglect, or discrimination.

What Can EMDR Help With?
EMDR Intensives
EMDR Intensives are built around the same protocol as traditional EMDR therapy, but the structure is adapted to maximize the benefits of longer sessions and less interruptions.
What does an Intensive look like?
We begin with a complimentary consultation to learn about your goals, answer any questions, and determine if this approach is the right fit for you.
I conduct a thorough assessment to understand your history and symptoms. Together, we will develop a personalized treatment plan, along with coping and grounding strategies to support you throughout the process.
Sessions are longer and more immersive—typically 3 hours—with scheduled breaks to prevent overwhelm. This format allows for deeper work on specific concerns or traumatic memories, supporting faster, meaningful progress.
Intensives take place over one or several days or weeks, sometimes with multiple sessions per week to maintain momentum. Time for reflection is built in to support processing and integration.
Upon closing, I provide strategies to help integrate your progress into daily life. Optional follow-up sessions are available to support continued healing.
Weekly EMDR Therapy vs. EMDR Intensives:
Which Is Right for You?
Why Choose Weekly EMDR Therapy?
Weekly sessions may be a better fit if you:
-
Are navigating ongoing life stressors that require regular support
-
Are newer to therapy or still building coping skills
-
Prefer a slower, more gradual pace
-
Benefit from time between sessions to reflect and integrate

Weekly therapy offers a consistent space to explore and process both past experiences and ongoing circumstances.
Why Choose EMDR Intensives?
EMDR intensives may be a better fit if you:
-
Are interested in more time-limited, focused work
-
Feel stuck in weekly therapy or want to move through a specific issue more efficiently
-
Have the ability to commit to longer sessions over a shorter period
Additional considerations:
-
While intensives involve a larger upfront investment, EMDR intensives are often cost effective as they reduce the overall number of sessions needed
-
EMDR intensives are time-efficient as they allow you to engage in continuous work over several days or weeks with less interruption
A flexible approach: for many people, it’s not either/or.

Some folks will start with weekly sessions and transition into an intensive, while others complete an intensive and then return to weekly therapy for ongoing support.
